Hello World!

Hi, I’m Emily, the little sister in Little Sister Handmade. Michelle is my big sister. Growing up in Germany, where crafting is as much a part of life as fresh-baked bread or coffee and cake in the afternoon, we always dreamed about one day opening a little craft store together. Now that we are grown, with families of our own, we sadly find ourselves 1,658 miles apart. This Christmas, we decided we wouldn’t let a little distance stop us from crafting together, and so Little Sister Handmade and Big Sister Handmade were born.
Through these sites, we hope to share a little bit about our days, and mostly our crafting, with each other and with you. There will be craft-alongs and tutorials, recipes and photographs. We hope you will find some joy and inspiration here, and we hope you will share some of your joy and inspiration with us. Welcome!

This is such a great idea! I’ll definitely be following along! I think your site looks great.
Hey, this is great! I almost feel I should re-install my old workbench somewhere and re-sharpen that old jigsaw I used back in the days… seriously. Alas, for the time being, workbench = computer, jigsaw = mind and wood = books and papers! Anyway, I’ll follow this one. All the best, and Prosit Neujahr along with it!

What a great idea! For me it’s like a cozy visit with my two babes. How about a cup of tea? Love, Ma
Georg! Thanks for stopping by. What did you use to make? I’m intrigued!
My mama! Commenting on my blog! I’m so proud!
Dear Emi, what a wonderful blog and such beautiful crafts you are creating for your dear little ones. This has been such fun for me to see. It takes me back to first grade crafts. Wonderful that you chose Jan Brett who is one of my very favorite authors for children. Ashlyn, Chis and I did a storytellling play for school years ago in which Ashlyn was all dressed up in ski gear and Chris and friends were the sneaky trolls in Trouble with Trolls who stole her mittens, hat, skiis, and her stuffed dog. The hats worn by the trolls recently were remade as sheep heads with ears in the Christmas pageant at church. Hugs all around and cheers to you for your beautiful handmade toys. Much love, Susan
